Ruth, I love the Trick puzzles and love a good challenge, but I must tell you there are some Traditional puzzles that are more challenging than some Teaser puzzles. Just ask them to give you lots of whammies if you want a challenging Traditional puz…

Profile Information

What's your favorite puzzle and why?
Seaing Stars is still one of my all time favorite puzzles. It was one of the more difficult Stave puzzles I have encountered and I just love the artwork by Dianna Rowell
Which Puzzles Do You Own?
Not as many as I would like! A few of my favorites include Riding High, Treasure Trove and Olivia to name a few.
Meet other Puzzle Nuts near you by telling us what town and state you're in.
Chapel Hill, NC and New York, NY
Which puzzles are on your wish list?
Hot Diggity Dogs (The 180 piece version)
When and where do you puzzle?
Always at my dining room table (after dinner of course).
What got you into Stave Puzzles?
I was looking for a challenge and found Stave Puzzles to be both beautiful works of art and challenging puzzles all in the same package.
Tips for solving Stave Puzzles: Want to share?
When it comes to Teaser Puzzles, I like to spread all the pieces out face up. Then I group all the silhouette shaped pieces together and admire their beauty. Now I'm ready to start the puzzle with the remaining "border" pieces. It's always fun to see how the pieces go together as you never know what shape the puzzle will be (namely because there is no picture on the outside of the little blue box!
About me: Interests, fave books and music etc
The Jigsaw Puzzle: Piecing Together A History by Anne D Williams of course! I am a passionate art collector and run an Art Gallery in Chapel Hill NC. I was instantly attracted to Stave puzzles because of their artistic beauty!

Densel The Dragon Limited Edition Puzzle Mini Review

Hello fellow Puzzle Nuts! I have been quite enjoying the past three weeks working on and becoming frustrated over the latest addition to my puzzle collection, Densel the Dragon so I haven't been adding to my puzzle blog as often as I tend to like.

If you aren't familiar with Densel the Dragon it is a Trick Limited Edition puzzle of which only 35 are being cut and it was initially released for purchase back in 1990. It is the most l… Continue

Stave Time Share Program

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Stave Time Share Program but I thought I would start a blog and describe my experience. I was unfamiliar with the intricacies of the program but I will admit to having read about it for about 2 years and thought it would be something nice to do "someday." I finally decided to take advantage of the special 8 instead of 6 promotion Stave was running back in March and comment on it here for all the Stave Puzzle Nuts.

A lot of people have asked me… Continue

Happy St Patrick's Day!!!

Happy St Patty's Day fellow Puzzle Nuts! I've been busy today working but must admit I was quite excited about this special day...and no its not due to the green beer! I was excited because my latest puzzle order arrived today from Stave and inside the shipment were the puzzles Pot Luck and Try Your Luck! I had ordered these around Valentine's Day and was hoping they would get here in time for the holiday and the timing couldn't have been more perfect!

I must admit I am loving Pot of Gold and a… Continue

Hi Bryan,
Well, I finally got some photos of my painted furniture and a baby quilt that I made uploaded and on my page. Can you tell I like bright colors.

Hi Bryan! Thanks for the interest in my quilts and painted furniture. Soon coming your way, will be pics of a couple of my baby quilts...I've made about 18 in the last yrs for friends and for church sales. I've been quilting for many yrs and have many more quilts that I have no pics of. Maybe some day I'll take pics of them too. Also will be included, are a bunch of pics of the furniture I've painted. They're kinda funky...the furniture that is. When you get the pics, get a closeup of the detail. I love bright colors.

I've been at Stave for 11 yrs. and what a fun I'm having. Well you know that pic of me that you saw in a mailing???...add a few yrs and a bit of silver hair...haha Thanks for writing to me...you know my home and Stave life is so busy I've not been able to respond sooner. Well I think I'm back on track now and hopefully I'll be able to check in more often.

So what do you for fun...besides puzzling I mean? I've sent you your prize point certificates in the past. Did you know that I'm the same Lori? haha!

Well gotta go...time to go home. Have to pull myself away sometimes! 'Til next time...happy puzzling! Lori

Hi Bryan...appears I missed your message months ago when I first joined puzzlenuts...wanted to thank you for the welcome. Now have Luxemburg Gardens on order (I think that's the correct name, it's what I always call it)...I'm really looking forward to getting a new Stave to work on :)

Rabbit Hill Inn is a great place to go...we visited there during the Fall Folige season, and if was fabulous! The owners are great, and they have literally hundreds of Stave puzzles...we spent hours puzzling, as did several other Inn guests. The owners told us about the puzzles when we arrived, and we both said "Oh, we don't puzzle, but thanks for offering"...they smiled (a knowing smile) and said 'just give one a try and we bet you'll change your mind' -- the rest is history. The food is wonderful there...ah, I'm making myself want to go back now...
Sorry for the ramble, really just meant to say thanks for the welcome. Theresa

Hello Bryan! Thank you so much for answering my questions the other day, I really appreciate it! After looking at Pandamonium again from a new perspective, I finally solved it. It felt so good to see it completed :)

I bought Have a Ball which I completed. Then Bad Hare Day (for Easter nieces and nephews!), and Hide-n-Seek which arrived Monday. My daughter has done it. John and I just got back from the Cape today so haven't had a chance to try that one. The one on order is a Christmas one that was on Freaky Friday last week.

I bought 4 last week! Have to stop!.........at least til April when I'm hoping to get a 1st anniversary one for my son in NYC. That should be fun. Stave does a beautiful job with the personalized photo puzzles.

I finished it! It was a Teaser, 2 swords. My husband got sucked in, then my daughter came by and had to place a cat or two (or three). We finished it in 2.5 hours; not a record I'm sure but it's done! How sad. Tomorrow I should be getting another one (making up for lost years!). When did you get started? How many have you done? Which puzzles do you find the most fun/challenging/engaging? Would be interested in your opinion.

They were so nice to us on our visit. I've wanted to have my own Stave puzzle for years (30 to be exact!). It was easier being there to ask questions face-to-face than try to figure out what I wanted from the website (especially since there were too many that I wanted). Seeing many of the puzzles first hand helped with that. Fun place, fabulous looking puzzles, and nearby Hanover was great for lunch (I recommend Murphy's Pub). UPS just delivered my first puzzle and I'm in trying to "Have a Ball."

Hi Bryan,

My sister gave me the Blue Lagoon puzzle for Christmas and I loved it! She gave my mother "Snowplace Like Home". While visiting my mom, I asked her how the puzzle was going and she said she could not get it so.... I took it back with me to the Bahamas and was so PLEASED with myself for figuring it out!!!!

I do not consider myself a huge "puzzle person", and I have never seen these types of puzzles before, but I LOVE them!

My sister loves puzzles too, and has promised me more. I can't wait!

Luckily the weather here is beautiful so I get many visitors!!!!
