Hi All,
After putting Knight at Stavely Castle together - FINALLY - I decided to revisit Andrea Farnham's Treasure Island. Compared to KaSC it was a 'walk in the park' but immensely enjoyable. The art work is, well, a work of art! A riot of colour (that's the correct spelling by the way) :)
My new friend Ted informed me that only 41 of the intended 50 were made as Andrea left Stave before the series was complete and more can't be made as Andrea has the plans but Stave owns the…

Thanks so much for the offer to loan us your T.I. puzzle. We have one here that we have put together in anticipation of having to figure it out ourselves but we are hoping to work something out with Andrea first. Ideally, it would be best to have her take care of it but if she isn't up for that we will have to buckle down and just do it! I appreciate your offer. You've worked some great Limited Editon trick puzzles. Do you have any suggestions for a new design???

My new friend Ted informed me that only 41 of the intended 50 were made as Andrea left Stave before the series was complete and more can't be made as Andrea has the plans but Stave owns the copyright. I don't know if it's possible or for that matter legal, but if Stave want to borrow the puzzle to finish the series they would be welcome. As good luck would have it, we finished the puzzle almost as soon as we received it and identified THE key within the required timeframe to claim the treasure chest. We still have the treasure map as well. I have photos of the puzzle in various stages of completion and I'm happy to post them if anyone is interested. In keeping with Steve's policy I won't post the correct solution.
Happy puzzling!
Noel
Steve, I'm interested in another puzzle! Do you have something as captivating as TI and KaSC on offer?
What a relief.
Thanks Ted and Riccardo for all your support.
The missus is happy!
Cheers,
Noel
The stone is together and the sword slips straight in.
All that is left is the castle. I did a lot of the stone with the back facing up as it was easier to match up the various shapes to swap them around.
I'll keep you posted on progress with the castle.
Cheers,
Noel
Bummer about the broken sheath. Please send us the broken piece, its surrounding areas and the sword and we can fix it for you. We can usually get it almost as good as new. I hope you weren't too tough on your daughter... maybe just take her ipod or tv away for the next 6 years ;) If she's home puzzling at least you know where she is!
On another note - I get the impression that the photo of the dragon and the lair has the dragon overlaid over itself and on the stone. Is that correct? If so, then you still need to work on the dragon, since the photo of my final solution has no overlays happening around the edges. It seems that you are very close to the solution since in general terms you have the different parts of the dragon in the correct places. I hope this reflection helps.
