Hello fellow Puzzle Nuts! I have been quite enjoying the past three weeks working on and becoming frustrated over the latest addition to my puzzle collection, Densel the Dragon so I haven't been adding to my puzzle blog as often as I tend to like.
If you aren't familiar with Densel the Dragon it is a

Trick Limited Edition puzzle of which only 35 are being cut and it was initially released for purchase back in 1990. It is the most limited of the limited edition puzzles as the majority of the Stave Limited Edition puzzles are crafted in an edition of 50. Our illustrious Chief Tormentor designed the tricks (and there are quite a few) and one of my all time favorite Stave artists Candy Thun assisted in the design of some of the tricks and came up with the incredible artwork for this puzzle!
I'm not going to say too much about this puzzle but I will show you one thing I noticed the minute I opened the box as it was something I had never encountered in a Stave puzzle before (and I own quite a few at this point - my goal is to own every single Trick puzzle ever cut by Stave ;-) ...
... wait for it ...
... can it be?
Yes! Something totally different and unexpected in a Stave puzzle! I was amazed as the minute I pulled off the blue lid I saw that quite a few of the pieces were glued permanently on top of each other!
My initial thought was this was going to be a double decker puzzle...but I'm not going to tell you anything except boy was I wrong! Candy and our Chief Tormentor really came up with a clever and fun puzzle! I love dragons and castles so of course this puzzle was a home run for me as it features both (in case you couldn't guess from the title) and with almost 500 pieces the puzzle is quite the challenge and is hard to rate as it took far longer than most of the puzzles in my collection. The puzzle does require you to find three solutions and it does have an additional game which is quite challenging as you have to discern the name of the gent who saves the damsel in distress. So i guess you could say this is a Trick puzzle with a riddle element (which I like far better than those Rebus which I just struggle with for months on end trying to solve)!
There are only 6 left to order (I have number 28) so only a really, really, really select few of us are going to have the opportunity to own this extraordinary masterpiece (and I know a friend of mine has put number 29 on order). Get your order in before it sells out!!!
