I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! You guys are so sneaky!

I guess I erred in calling it a Sneak Peek section. There is a space on the right hand side of the main page that says New Teaser for Summer. This is the puzzle I was referring to.

Your idea for including an extra piece in each of the states is interesting but I don't think we could pull it off technically. In order to make a piece from one puzzle fit perfectly into another puzzle we would need to have both puzzles to work with. So if you ordered them one a month it wouldn't work. We could use something like a Monkey Fist to hook them together and that would give us more leeway to create them onesie twosie but when displayed all together they wouldn't truly butt against each other like in a map. I'm not giving up on the regular map format. I just need to do some playing around on the saw.

Webcams?! Are you out of your mind?! Our shop is filled with 20 or so women... and Steve. Do you really think we could find a time to film when one of us isn't having a bad hair day? Actually, it is a clever thought and we will keep it in mind. Gotta go... need to call my hair stylist!

Are there any puzzles featuring dragonflies?

Dragonflies? Betsy Brown has been working on one for a while now. We have nailed down the technical aspect of it (folks who want a good challenge are going to LOVE it) and now she is working on the painting. We haven't quite figured out how it should look so Betsy is fiddling around with various styles. I can't say when it will be premiering but think it will be in the next couple of months. It will be at least 3 swords, if not 4!!!!! Keep an eye out for a dragonfly buzzing by you soon!!

what about hummingbirds????

are you able to collaborate with someone on their existing artwork? or do you want to do all original art? because something along the lines of Lena Liu's hummingbird artwork could be gorgeous & fun.

and that, for some reason, puts me in mind of Thomas Kinkade... his artwork?! or is that too plebeian, trite or cliched??

I'm thinking in the New England areas of the covered red bridges.... would any of those work into a line of traditional puzzles....

just some thoughts I had. :-)

I heard murmurings from Susan (our licenser) the other day that she was looking into licensing Thomas Kinkade's work. We'll keep you posted.

When you say hummingbirds are you thinking Stave Teaser puzzles or Traditional? If we are desiging Teasers we work directly with the artist to create original art. For Traditional puzzles we use exactly what the artist creates as the image and then cut it with an irregular edge, etc. to make it a Stave. Does this make sense?

initially I was thinking of traditional; have you seen any of Lucy Liu's hummingbird artwork? it's very fantasy-like & ethereal and thus would work well in a traditional puzzle.

but I also like the idea of a hummingbird teaser puzzle!! you could do the entire puzzle in the outline of the hummer, then have lots of little ones inside it. that could be tons of fun!!

Crown Jewels by Wanda Mumm is a beautiful traditional print featuring hummingbirds. One of my favorites and definitely on my wish list.
