How about puzzles of the works of Romero Britto, a contemporary Brazillian artist

Britto is good, too, but not as well known.

One thing I would love to see would be a gentle(r) introduction to the trick puzzles... I've noticed that they are mostly rated 3-4-5 bolts of lightening...

You should really try dancing dolphins. It's perfect for a beginner. It will give you a clear vision of how and why a trick puzzle works. I can remember when I first learned to cut Fishbowl Frenzy. After cutting Champ umpty ump times and not really "getting it" it was like an epiphany. I finally Got It!! If Dancing Dolphins had been designed then I would have gotten it a lot sooner!! (Rest assured, I am of average intelligence...ain't no dummy!)

Jennifer, I'll have to give that a try! Thanks.

Rosalie Prussing has some really nice hawaiian folk art. They would make excellent puzzles.

One of Staves favorite motifs is the dragon and there have been some great ones in the past. Particularly memorable
was the dragon that appeared in Knight At Stavely Castle. In my opinion the best of all was Denzel The Dragon
who was featured in the Smithsonian article from 1990. This dragon was wild! He was a tripledecker and featured a
vividly intricate paintjob by Stave genius Candy Thun. It was a 500 piece limited edition from way back when and it
has my vote to be unretired from The Stave Hall of Fame and brought back to the masses as a reduced sized
open ended edition much like The Butterfly Chase. What sayest thee assistant tormentress?

You guys and your great ideas!! Yes, Denzel is a fabulous puzzle and I have to say, Brilliant minds think alike. We are in the process of looking at all the Limited Editions that have not been sold out and putting together a LE mailing piece so folks can see everything we've done. We stopped offering thinks like the Carousel Series because we felt it just wasn't tough enough but really, some people don't necessarily want a hard, hard puzzle. Many like the uniqueness of the handpainted Limited Edition. I love that series. Jennifer Browns colors are great and I will be thrilled to see these things come back. As for offering Denzel in a mini, non-limited format... not til the regular edition is sold out. LE buyers are special and they have special puzzles. I wouldn't want to take anything from that. So that's my 2 cents :)

Thanks for the post Jennifer; this is the best news I've heard in ages! The Limited Editions are museum
quality works of art that will be greatly appreciated by a new generation of puzzlenuts that might not be
familiar with the works of Jennifer, Jim Schubert and others. Can't wait for the mailing.

I think the dragon in the Smithsonian is the article I read as a kid that got me hooked on Stave.

I'd really love to see a Teaser puzzle which is a Koi pond. There are many Teasers that are based around an outer border with numerous similar animals that must fit within the boundary and I feel that this would be a perfect theme for one.

Koi are very vividly colored and come in many varieties, so there should be plenty of room to make every single fish unique in appearance and their bodies are flexible enough to form many different shapes as well. The border would probably be stone but could include Koi leaping into the air which break the frame in the manner of puzzles like "What's for Lunch?"
