Hi Riccardo.

An absolute disaster or should that be tragedy happened today. My 14 yo daughter decided to have a go at the stone and the sheath. She saw a part that 'looked like it should fit' and tried to force it. Sadly the left had side of the sheath point is now in two. Obviuosly the 12 years of storing the puzzle till the kids got older wasn't long enough.

There is a photo on my page.

off to work now :(

Noel...if I recall and observe correctly in the layer of the sheath. Unfortunately I do not have detailed photos - so you may have to depend on someone else for those -

Go to www.skype.com and download their application. If you have a headphone or mike and speakers you are in business. Look me or others up and ask to connect. A webcam wouold then do the hat trick.

Finally - I am assuming that the puzzle game you are referring to is H & E. If so, indeed it is. Thanks for the tip. I have downloaded it and have started playing it once again - the greatness of it is that it progressively becomes more and more challenging.

All the best....Riccardo

Thanks, Riccaro. For the flowers fromthe castle wall, do they go into the stone layer with the sheath or one of the other layers?

A photo would help :)

I must look into Snype. BTW, that puzzle game is quite addictive!

Cheers,

Noel

Hi Riccardo! About you being the second; that's what it said the Cigar magazine I found on-line. Apparently Steve let you do the puzzle for an article back in January 1997. Should I tackle the sword starting from the sheath and working out? I can see there are numerous double-cuts and I recall from the article that some of the castle wall flowers go in there as well. Here are some photos.

Cheers,

Noel

Riccardo, My name is Noel Ashman. I read about you in a magazine as only the second person (at that time) to solve Knight at Stavely Castle. My wife and I have number seven of that limited edition and we received it back in March '95. However we had a two year old daughter at the time and it was too dangerous to leave the puzzle out for extended periods of time. Then along came number two, etc, etc. anyway, the kids are old enough now that it is safe to work it again: but things aren't going well. We think we have the dragon right,I;m sure the castle is wrong, I'm not certain about the base and the stone has me stumped! Any suggestions! We did solve Treasure Island but I'm not sure how many 'bolts' that was.

Cheers,

Noel
