What got you into Stave Puzzles?
When traveling on a plane in the early 90s, the complementary magazine contained an article about Stave. I called shortly after landing, and my free catalog arrived a few days later. The cover displayed a photo of a simple box sporting a gold clown on top and the words, "Once you open this box, there's no turning back." I'm happy to report that they were quite correct.

Hi John. re: Treasure Island photos...I posted them. I had asked folks at Stave weeks ago about putting up completed images of puzzles that aren't offered anymore. Paula didn't have an issue with it. When Someone else in the community also questioned the completed TI pics, I asked Stave again and no one objected. I'll remove the pics for now because two of you NUTS have raised issues about it. But please know that right now Stave has no objections to posting photos of completed puzzles that are no longer sold. So I can remove photos I put up, but if anyone else puts up completed pics of puzzles that are no longer sold, I'll be hard pressed to remove them. Maybe we should open a discussion about it in the Forum? Whaddya think? June

Hi John. Thanks for uploading the photo....really nice. It gives me an idea for some photos I took in Prague a few years ago and then also in Europe this summer. If you have any more custom puzzles you don't mind sharing photos, that would be great. Getting ideas from what other PuzzleNuts have done is part of what StavePuzzleNuts.com is all about. Thanks much, June

Sure, I'd be happy to upload a photo of The Strand of Oz, since I'm not revealing any secrets. It was made from a photo I took in the Strand Arcade in Sydney. If you zoom in enough, you might even see some silhouettes. For example, there is a famous Sydney landmark in the southernmost tip of the puzzle. ~John

Hi JP, I work in the graphics area at Stave and love it! I remember your Strand of Oz puzzle. I work a lot with customers and try to turn their visions into reality. Was a little skeptical at first of how the fake wood appearance would look with the photo, but the final product was amazing! Especially with the sculpted designs you chose. It would be great if you want to share a photo of that puzzle.

Hi John. Paula...great idea. Yes, please do put photos of the past years ornaments into an album...that would be great...or just upload them and I'll make the album for you if you like. ....and.....your comment about high heels gives me an idea for a shoe design.....where the heel is actually several stave puzzle pieces.....I'll consult with you on that!

Hi John, You may have notice in my profile that my favorite M&M's are Peanut Butter! They're a girl's best friend :-) And, yes, I have visited the M&M store in NYC. I CAN be bribed and this year's ornament is darn cute! I would love a photo of your ornaments - that would be so interesting for the other PuzzleNuts. Maybe you could start a Stave Ornament Photo Album.

By the way - high heels are to legs as gloves are to hands. Have a good day, p
