What got you into Stave Puzzles?
Those tantalizing catalogs! They illustrated one puzzle in particular that quenched my dual desire to incorporate family names into a puzzle, while properly illustrating what my family situation is really like: "Family Circus."
Tips for solving Stave Puzzles: Want to share?
For the harder puzzles, I start by working a few easier puzzles first. It's also important to remember that this is fun: so have a blast! :)
About me: Interests, fave books and music etc
Radiology Technologist, puzzle collector of Stave jigsaws and mechanical puzzles (puzzle boxes, interlocking burrs/cubes, and metal disentanglements), playing teaser puzzles with my 10 year old daughter Melissa, skating, golf, tennis, poker, music (Casting Crowns, City on a Hill), and reading (Sandra Brown, Ernest Hemmingway, James Earl Carter).
Thanks Ron. When Nature Calls certainly looks fun. The catalogue picture seems to gives little away.
I won a couple of items in the early Ergatoudis auctions, but the prices have climbed steadily with each phase and are now out of my range. (One of his sons also works at the BBC in London, albeit it in a different building. I must look him up one of these days.) Nice to get a rough idea of the "value" of some of my boxes though. They would have turned out to be a good investment, except ... I can't bear to sell them at the moment.
All the best - David
Hey Ron,
Just joined up here. Interesting picture. I have a few puzzle boxes by Kagen Schaefer, Akio Kamei and Ninomiya. Nothing by Trevor Wood though I'm afraid. New to Staves. Very different types of puzzle, but the same great quality and craftsmanship I guess.

Hi Ron. Hope all is well. Your portrait photo indicates you have a daughter, or maybe a neice or just a lucky young lady in your life somehow. We have a contest going on now that would be a fun activity for her alone or for you both. Take a look at "Steve's Challenge." It's promoted on the home page of the site. It's pretty simple and you're chances of winning a $175 Tropical Punch puzzle are pretty good because no one has done the contest yet!!! Hope to see an entry from you guys. The contest ends on Jan. 31. Best, June
Is it my age or the craziness of my life that does this to me?! I was thinking of another puzzler in CA who has a young daughter and always asks for a german shepherd in his puzzles. Do you have a goldfish?!
Hi Ron, Welcome to the Stave PuzzleNut community! Great photo of you and your daughter - thanks for sharing!
Intersting to see your favorite choice of Berry Nice Place. We haven't shown that for awhile, maybe it's time to pull it out again. Oh - did I mention I work for Stave. :-) I've probably talked to you before.
T.I. is in the works! We'll keep you updated - it's well worth the wait!
