What's your favorite puzzle and why?
The Butterfly Chase-it is the first one I've received-the first I dreamed of owning...out of all of the puzzles I had repeatedly gone through-it, to me, was the most beautiful.
Which Puzzles Do You Own?
"The Butterfly Chase", and "Nessie"
Meet other Puzzle Nuts near you by telling us what town and state you're in.
Nashville, TN
Which puzzles are on your wish list?
Champ and Empress Pearl-(to go along with Nessie)-and then my ULTIMATE dream of owning Treasuretrove or Palace of Pranks for their difficulty factor. I think I am ALMOST done talking myself into getting Venice By-ways for that same reason. I like Lion Dancers and Can of Worms-BUT, Pull-my-Strings always catches my eye and makes me smile.
When and where do you puzzle?
In my living room, and I only do a Stave when I can devote full un-ruined, un-possiblity of it being ruined, time. BUT, I will do other puzzles often through out the day, but my most favorite time is late night, alone.
What got you into Stave Puzzles?
I was looking for Ravensburger puzzles on-line. I can hardly remember how I ended up at Stave.com, but after reading "Chief Tormentor" I was curious. Once I received my catalog and information and read it-I was hooked. My brother and I became "Super-Stave-Geeks" and talked about their puzzles all the time. I try to keep my "Staveing" down to a minimum around the house since my Boyfriend has started to refer to them as "Stahhve"(sounds like "mauve")with a snooty accent-ha ha-because I talk about the quality and art of each piece.
I sound like a "junkie".
Tips for solving Stave Puzzles: Want to share?
I don't know if it helps, but for me I laid out a nice cloth. I had all chores and responsibilities attended to, so my mind could 'be free'. I had something to drink, non-residue-on-my-fingers type of candies-and I treated myself to unwrapping it from the box with a savoring intention. I laid each piece out carefully and once they were all face up, I just looked at each piece as it lay there-each individual piece and "read" it. I just kept doing that until the "stories" started sounding the same. I have only worked The Butterfly Chase-and I do not think I could do the "reading" technique with a puzzle like Fan Flair(different artwork). I think laying out a nicely ironed cloth to work on is important-and possibly adding a bit of dramatics(?) to "setting out to puzzle" helps because it may be so far from how you would normally set out to "do for yourself", that it shocks you out of routine and brings your focus inwards and onto what you are doing-I guess I think that's what helped me-it sure was fun to "Do a Stave".
About me: Interests, fave books and music etc
Puzzling, Fishing, Flying Kites, Rock Hounding and most recently-"Rock Band" for the PS3-(I'm a GREAT "Virtual Drummer").

I would love to hear from you whenever you would like to chat. I am happy to give you the 'inside' scoop on any puzzles you may be considering, what's coming soon, whatever! I love my job and it's just great when we have such terrific puzzlers to entertain. It's what we LOVE to do.

I'm looking forward to our Puzzle Party at Blackberry Farm this weekend. Yes, it is work, but I get some puzzling time, too. I find the Traditionals most relaxing but I make my brain work through one Trick puzzle, too. Of course, I have somewhat of an advantage because I know what the end result needs to be :) But it's still hard for me. Honest!! I feel really good when I get it figured out. Keep Puzzling!

Hi Jessme! So glad you've joined www.StavePuzzlenuts.com and it looks like you know your way around Staveland based on your profile comments and Jennifer's comments back to you. It's great that experienced Stave PuzzleNuts like you are in our merry band of, well, Nuts! Any photos you may have of your puzzling activities over the years would be more than appreciated on this site. Think about uploading some if you have any. Also, if you'd like help in getting an image to represent yourself, just say so. I'd be glad to. The default "gray man" icon just isn't you based on what you've written! Take care, june

Oh, Jessme, it's in your blood. You are hooked. Your words are music to our ears. We know most of our puzzlers are true fanatics but it is still music to our ears to hear words such as yours. I've been with Stave for over 20 years now and I still feel like WE ROCK!!!!!!!! And yes, you really should choose Pull My Strings. It's perfect for a kite flyer and it is a challenging puzzle that will hold its challenge for future puzzling. To offer some more tidbits: Venice Byways will be a similar puzzling experience to Nessie so make that decision after you work Nessie. Empress Pearl is a great challenge. It hurts my head :) Champ is a humdinger but one you might really like because it sounds like you are an 'organized' puzzler. You really need to keep track of the various formations it makes while you are working with it. Puzzle On!!!
