What's your favorite puzzle and why?
Peaceable Kingdom, because I won it in the monthly drawing! I would love to own A Midsummer Nights Dream - just beautiful.
Which Puzzles Do You Own?
Sadly, just Peaceable Kingdom.
Meet other Puzzle Nuts near you by telling us what town and state you're in.
Moundsville, WV
Which puzzles are on your wish list?
All of them!
When and where do you puzzle?
Whenever I get the urge. Usually the living room floor.
What got you into Stave Puzzles?
I remember seeing them in The Smithsonian mag when I was a kid. I told my mom I wanted a Stave for christmas that year - and every year since! Being a mom myself now, I'll make sure to give in to a few of the little ones' requests.
Tips for solving Stave Puzzles: Want to share?
Patience. And the ability to think outside the box, because the outside of the Stave box doesn't help!
About me: Interests, fave books and music etc
Reading (we never get rid of books!), gardening, cooking and baking. I hope to own a bakery someday with a little sit-down area for sweets and tea. I'm working on all the recipes I've accumulated over the years, making them "my own" as they say. I garden vicariously through my mother-in-law's garden (no room for my own here). Listen to a pretty wide variety of music; we love Alison Krauss, Nick Drake, Buena Vista Social Club, The Cars (and other 80's icons), and grunge-era Pearl Jam and Nirvana and Soundgarden. I'm really into the bluegrass at the moment, and have started to think I need to learn to play the fiddle. I've played guitar for nearly two decades, and I think it might just be time to add to that.

memorial day '08

So here I am on Memorial day. Sitting at home with nothing much to do (if you don't count the Great Wall of China growing out of my sink, and Laundry Mountain in the laundry room, and I don't). The weather is finally trying to turn around here in northern WV. It's been an odd spring to date, and today is really one of the first days that has hinted at the promise of the hot, humid summers we're accustomed to. Owen, Chloe, and I played in the sand box for a while and gazed longingly at the empty… Continue

Hi Shannon,
Thanks for the comment, you have beautiful babies!!!
I have three babies, four if you count my husband, but they are all grown now.
I have a small green house and some raised beds for gardening. Our season is short hear in New Hampshire so we make the best with what we got. I grow basil, oregano, tyme and rosemary for cooking but also for making tea. my very favorite is Chocolate mint for tea, can't get enough of it,I used to only like spearment but the chocolate mint wins hand down. I'll have to send you some when it's ready.
any ways I like basil you like oregano, maybe we both can agree on liking the red hot chili peppers!
( ok, my husband came up with that one, he's so funny )

Shannon! You were most kind in comment you left regarding my submission for category 1. It truly pales in comparison to yours, however. I did work up another entry this morning, which was far more fun than washing the kitchen floor, a task I have already been avoiding for far too long. I liked your candy corn idea. Working with that in mind,I might rename my entry. I can't see where there is anything in the "rules" that doesn't allow for that. Still...it's very primitive, new name or not. I'm a good loser. :-)

Oops...forgot to say: Look on the main page of the site toward the bottom for the Steve's Challenge contest. You can enter it even if you have cardboard puzzle pieces to use....see the directions and you'll see what I mean. Few people have entered. I think you have a great shot at winning......there's one entry for category 3 now...of all cardboard pieces. since you have peacable kingdom you could use those pieces plus cardboard pieces.....and would have an excellent chance at winning in one of the other categories....check it out. j
