Stave puzzle: What's for Lunch? because of its cuteness and wackiness
Non-Stave puzzle: the early 80s Springbok puzzle The Puzzler for the same reasons
Which Puzzles Do You Own?
Stave puzzles: What's for Lunch?, Frosted Flake, Pinch Me, Something to Crow About!, Raining Cats and Dogs, Pull My Strings, Carlye's Cow, Ladybug Ladybug, Ewe Are My Sunshine
I also own many non-Stave puzzles (Springbok, Ravensburger, Milton Bradley, Tuco, FX Schmid, etc.).
Meet other Puzzle Nuts near you by telling us what town and state you're in.
Norwalk, CT
Which puzzles are on your wish list?
See the Rain Dear, Fan Flair, Fan Tease-ya, Almost Tiffany, What's Brewing?, Handel This, Tips Up, In a Pinch, Hit the Slopes, Sheer Loonacy. Those are the main ones.
When and where do you puzzle?
At home, usually in the evening or on Sunday afternoon.
What got you into Stave Puzzles?
Appealing visual qualities, sound and creative craftsmanship, challenging features (dropouts, irregular borders), snob appeal, high resale value (not that I would ever want to part with my Staves!).
Tips for solving Stave Puzzles: Want to share?
Sort pieces by general shape and orient all pieces within a group in the same direction. Avoid using a guide picture (such as the ones posted on the retail site). It's much more fun to discover the picture as you go along.

Trade Secrets, my friend, Trade Secrets! If we had allowed you into the cutting room we could never have let you leave. Our cutting techniques and saw features are highly protected so we don't allow many folks in that area. When we have TV crews filming we put funny little black bags on the saws and limit the crews ability to simply wander around freely. We've worked long and hard to get Stave to where we are today and we plan to keep on doing what we're doing for a very loooooong time. (at least another 25 years, until I can retire!)

Hi Frederick! Fan-Flair is on your wish list!! I hope you get it I enjoyed it very much. Welcome to www.StavePuzzleNuts.com! I recently completed Fan-Flair and it was satisfying! We often have contests for which puzzles are the prizes and they are a great way to add to your collection, or perhaps, obtain your first Stave puzzle. We're working on providing information for collectors of Stave Puzzles as well as casual fans. If you have pictures of friends and family doing puzzles...any puzzles, consider uploading and sharing here. If you ever need a tip or hint, there's a boat load of folks here who'll tease you along without giving away the solution! Stave staff is also very involved in this community and it is very helpful as you know! So glad you joined, Best, June
